Sunday’s 78th Annual Golden Globe Awards, held virtually for the first time this year, may be a night the Hollywood Foreign Press Association would rather not remember, given that the NBC telecast was marred by technical issues and frequent criticism from hosts and attendees about the lack of diversity in the organization’s ranks.
However, streamers like Netflix will not look to forget the ceremony anytime soon after taking home many of the night’s top awards—and for both Apple TV+ and Disney+, winning their first-ever Globes during the telecast.
After being delayed for nearly two months, the Golden Globes, emceed by comedians Tina Fey (from New York) and Amy Poehler (from Los Angeles), delivered bragging rights to streamers new and old.
